There are always tons of procedures that may be used to fulfill with the manufacturing demands. Z-amount is a popular ZW3D machining process that is normally used to steep places of an area or machine steep surfaces. General machining practice dictates that so that you can get great surface finish, it’s crucial that you choose the right tool route operation. Occasionally it may be essential, to restrict or control the tool path into a special area of the part. This post describes how to restrain and contain tool path for Z-level machining in ZW3D. Here are a few of the available options: 1. Angular containment. In this example though, let us use containment to induce ZW3D to machine that is only the steep regions of the part. ZW3D simply computes tool route in the regions whose angle is between the Min and Max by establishing Maximum Angular limit and a Minimal Angular limit.
The tool course in FIG.4 was contained between a minimum 45 and a maximum 90 angles. Single surface containment: Occasionally there will be one surface that has to be machined alone. In this scenario, we merely create Tool trail with this surface. So we should choose the border of the surface as a closed profile, and define it to as a containment feature as follows Figure.5 zwcadclub.com/uploadfile/images/2011-1-20Single surface.png Compute it, the Tool route just as illustrated in FIG.5. Feature the extent of Tool course in XY direction: In FIG.6, we can see the Tool route goes beyond the boundaries of the component. Surface Limiting Containment. For some Parts (Like the Part revealed in FIG.7), we want the tool course to be restricted to the underside shape of the part. So, we can select all the underside surfaces as a containment surface characteristic and ZW3D will create the tool path as shown in FIG.8.
